Packer for combination bolt

GMA sells several models of packers that have been requested where the combination bolt (hollow bolt) is used.

The first type is a conical packer, which is inserted at the end of the combination bolt and is tensioned by means of the dome washer. This conical packer is equipped with an evacuation tube on delivery.

The second type of packer is designed to be retrofitted where the combination bolt has been installed, and there are problems with leakage, and the conical packer may not work due to poor rock in the surface layer. This combination bolt packer can be installed at different depths afterward and tensioned with the help of tools so that injection can take place.

Note: However, in case of really leaking boreholes and where you want to create a dry zone around the reinforcement bolt, we recommend that Thorbolt is used where a grouting pressure of 5-10 Bar in addition to the current water table in the borehole can be used.

Product variants

Conical packer with a drainage tube for 27mm (M27) combination bolt. The packer seals when pressed into the borehole with the help of the end washer, after which the hole can be filled.

A combination bolt packer (pipe bolt packer) to be mounted slightly inside of the drill hole in case there is bad rock at the entrance of the borehole.

Combi bolt packer is intended to be installed at a depth of 300, 500, or 700mm. Depth is determined by the length of the mounting/tensioning pipe. The packer rubber itself is equipped with an internal thread so that it can be threaded to the intended depth.

For mounting the packer, there is also a crank designed to facilitate installation, i.e., to crank the mounting tube (not pictured).

Before injection, the packer is tightened using the nut supplied with the combi bolt; see step 3 below.

Mounting tool can be removed after the grout has cured and then reused.
